If there's one thing I'm pretty confident about it's knowing where all the gluten free food is around the fabulous Florida Keys. The tiny island chain at the southern tip of Florida offers miles of warm beaches, coconuts, miniature deer, wild iguanas, and plenty of weirdos. It is where I grew up and continue to spend winters, and it offers a really nice variety of gluten free foods including a dark chocolate covered slice of key lime pie on a stick. Yeah, you heard me. Last week I noticed a lump in my neck and after a quick surf of the net, I learned a) it's a swollen lymph node and b) I don't actually know anything about lymph nodes. So while I waited for a doc to check out THE LUMP, I studied up on the lymphatic system. Here's what I learned, and what the doc told me about it:

Last month we spent a day on top of Grouse Mountain (15 mins north of downtown Vancouver, BC) with our two girls in tow and I wrote about our experience over at One Smiley Monkey. We were happily surprised by how much the girls could do (inappropriate amounts of running, climbing and puddle-splashing), see (there were BEARS!) and eat (well, not so much eat as they have great fresh juices to drink) up there.
