Wet v. Dry: Seventh Generation Laundry Showdown

In an effort to get a little greener by ditching the plastic bottles, I decided to switch from Seventh Generation Free and Clear LIQUID laundry detergent to their POWDERED laundry detergent.  Soon after the big switch, a friend warned me that powdered detergents are harsher than their liquid counterparts and are harder on washing machines.  Crap.  Is this true for Seventh Generation products? Why I'm a Stickler about Sweeteners

After Goose's first birthday party, I was asked why I didn't allow her to eat "real" desserts (store-bought pies in this case), but rather only "permitted" her to eat the diced apple pie made with organic apples and cinnamon.   I hated that question for a few reasons.
